Our PebbleCreek Breast Cancer Discussion Group has a supply of heart pillows made by the PebbleCreek Quilters. They will be given to any woman undergoing surgery for a lumpectomy or mastectomy. The pillows have been designed to bring comfort while recovering from surgery. They are placed underneath the arm where the surgery has taken place and are held in place by a piece of elastic. This relieves the pressure on the incision. Another use for the pillow is to place it underneath the car seat belt so there is no pressure on the breast.
If you would like to obtain a pillow, please contact Rayma Scalzo at 935-1819. She will be happy to bring it to your home. It is important to request it prior to surgery so you can get the maximum benefit from it immediately following surgery. Please be sure to pass this along to friends who could use it.
Our discussion group will meet on Thursday, May 28 from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the Capri Room at Tuscany. If you are recovering or have had breast cancer, please come. At the conclusion of each meeting we go to lunch at Toscano’s Restaurant. Hope you will join us!
