A New Season of LifeLong Learning

Tim Pisarski

A new season of LifeLong Learning activities and events starts in September. “We are very excited about our new season, said LLL’s incoming president, Tim Pisarski, “as our 70+ volunteers have been diligently collaborating and organizing a great new season of activities, aligned with our LifeLong Learning mission.” Here’s what’s ahead:

Weekday Speaker Series

* Starting Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. in Renaissance Theatre, Doug Guthrie, an ASU professor, will give a talk called “The Great Power Competition and Geopolitics.”

* Next up, on Sept. 23 at 10 a.m., also in Renaissance Theatre, Dr. David Hondula will discuss the hot topic called “Climate Change and Adaptation.”

Classes

* On Sept. 12, at 11 a.m., Julia Kim, a passionate cultural ambassador, will bring the rich flavors of Korean cuisine to her class on making Korean dumplings.

* On Oct. 9, at 1 p.m., magician-mentalist Bruce Kundin will present an astonishing tour into the mysteries of mentalism and magic. Back by popular demand, Kundin has added new material for this class, different from last season’s class.

Trips

* The first trip, on Oct. 22, goes to Lake Pleasant for a private-charter lunch cruise. Participants will have much more to see in the daylight, compared to the dinner cruises.
