The Tennis Club is not just a competitive group of active adults. We also have our softer, glamorous side. Once a year, we remove our tennis shoes and don our elegant threads for the annual Holiday Dinner Dance. Our demeanor goes from being competitive to our compassionate side as we gather to celebrate a wonderful year together.
On Dec. 9, the Tuscany Falls Ballroom, with the lights romantically dimmed, welcomed our members to an evening of tasty hors d’oeuvres, scrumptious meals, and the melodic tunes from PebbleCreek’s Happy Hour Band. This evening culminated our fundraiser for the New Life Center, a shelter for abused women and their children. Our members brought gingerbread-house kits as well as cash donations to donate to the center, helping to make these displaced families a cheerful Christmas by providing a fun family activity.
During the evening, Vikki Constable, our emcee for the event, thanked our retiring board members, Jeff Gillen, Donna Gillen, and Sharon Connors. She also introduced our two new board members, Rellen Jones and Debbie O’Grady. During the dinner, Vikki and Sharon drew names for the winners of gift baskets to three lucky members in gratitude for the generous donations. Local restaurants in Goodyear donated the gift baskets. We thank our members for their generous donations. The New Life Center appreciated our contribution to help make the holidays a little more joyful for their residents.
It truly was a lovely magical evening. To all Creekers, the Tennis Club wishes everyone a beautiful 2024!
