When you think of universities in Arizona, you probably think of Arizona State University, the University of Arizona, Grand Canyon University, and maybe even Northern Arizona University. But, among these giant size universities stands one that is mighty in its purpose, mission, and vision but small in size. That university is Arizona Christian University (ACU) located in Glendale, Ariz. Their mission statement reads: “ACU provides a Biblically integrated, liberal arts education, equipping graduates to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in all aspects of life, as leaders of influence and excellence.” Their vision statement reads: “ACU exists to educate and equip followers of Christ to transform culture with the truth.” Powerful statements to a secular world.
Arizona Christian University educates approximately 1,600 students each year providing 18 academic programs in 41 areas of study. In addition, students may choose to participate in a robust performing arts program, and in a variety of intercollegiate sports programs.
PebbleCreek Community Church (PCCC) supports Arizona Christian University by providing an annual $5,000 scholarship to a student who is majoring in a teacher education program. The Missions Committee of PCCC believes that young Christians who become teachers will touch the future in a positive way by simply living out their faith as they go about their lives and their jobs.
On Sunday, April 26, PCCC will host Dr. Len Munsil, President of ACU, and Dr. Anthony Allen, Vice President of External Relations, along with the 2025 student scholarship recipient, Alexander Menolascina. Each will share their personal message addressing their work and study at ACU, and their walk with Christ. Everyone is invited to attend the PCCC service held in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom at 9 a.m. to hear how this David of the universities in Arizona is producing Christian “Leaders of Influence and Excellence.”
