On your mark—get ready—get set—go! The PebbleCreek Turkey Triathlon is returning on Saturday, November 19. It was last run in 2009. The fun begins at 8:00 a.m. sharp from in front of the Tuscany Fitness Center. The triathlon starts with a 2.8 mile walk/run, followed by a 10.6 mile bike ride through the community and then a three lap (six lengths) swim/aqua walk in the indoor pool. What? That sounds like more than you want to do? Fret not! You can do this Turkey Tri alone—or you can form a team dividing the workload (fun load?)—or you can choose to do the mini-tri version of each leg. That would be a 1.5 mile run/walk, followed by a 5.3 mile bike ride and a 1.5 lap swim.
The whole objective is to have fun and to exercise in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Let’s make this a fun morning! As I like to say—“This Turkey Tri is a calorie burning delight!” Skill and speed aren’t important. It’s more about enjoying a morning of fitness with your neighbors.
Registration is $15 payable in cash or check (made payable to PCHOA). Registration forms are at both the Eagle’s Nest and Tuscany Falls Fitness facilities. Each participant will receive a tee-shirt and refreshments will be provided after the race. A Village Inn pie will be awarded to the top male and female individual participants of the full length Turkey Tri.
Give the Turkey Triathlon a chance—“Tri it, you’ll like it!”
