Over 300 members of the PebbleCreek Bocce Association attended the annual Membership/Potluck Meeting on January 10 in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom.
Highlight of this special event was presentation of awards to the winning teams in the fall season. Taking home top honors were the Hare and Hounds Team, grand champions of the fall season Night League and the Bocce Bandits, fall season Day League Champs.
The Hare and Hounds beat the Court Jesters, the Thursday Night League winners, for the overall Grand Championship of the Night League. Bocce Bandits beat the Free Agents, the Wednesday Day League winners, for the overall Day League Grand Championship.
New Officers: During the Captains’ Meeting, held January 4, the following officers were elected for two year terms: President Cheryl Kasselman; Vice President Bob Labenz; Treasurer Mollie McErlean; Secretary Gail Davidson; Statistician Carol Gwilt and Publicity Pat Milich.
Winter season is now in full swing with a total of 626 players competing on 64 teams. The last games of the season will be played the week of March 6. The Captains and Co-Captains Meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 16, in the Chianti Room at Tuscany Falls at 9:00 a.m. The playoffs for the Winter Season Championships will be held after the Captains and Co-Captains Meeting at 10:00 a.m. at the Eagle’s Nest Bocce Courts. The annual Bocce picnic will follow at noon at Sunrise Park.
Early registration for the Spring League is already underway. Registrations can be turned in to Mollie McErlean, along with any money due, by February 25. Final registration will be on February 29 from 10:00 a.m. to noon and March 1 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Eagle’s Nest kiosk. The Spring League will commence on Tuesday, March 22, and will end on Friday, May 13.
