It has been an amazingly busy year for the quilters in PebbleCreek. There were more projects and classes in the Diamondback Room than our club has had in a long time. Just a few of the classes we offered last year were: Give and Take Table Runner, Watermelon Pin Cushion, Valentine Pot Holder, Jinny Beyer Tote, Electric Quilt (EQ7), One Block Wonder, Thread Catcher, Block Aid, Step Up Zigzag, Mug Rugs, Flying Geese Clinic, Small Study in Line and Color, Christmas Tree Table Topper, Spicy Spiral, Disappearing Hour Glass, Scrap Purse, Halloween Table Runner, Zippy Stripy Purse, Quilt Documentation, Pineapple Block, Hostess Potholder, Stack Boxes, Folding Bowl, 10 minute Table Runner, Christmas Ornament, Zippered Scissor Case and the Spider Web Quilt Block. Anyone have a request for a class? Our Programs Chairwomen Liz Gray and Linda Shaver are lining up a whole new schedule of different techniques and group sewing ideas. There’s no reason you can’t learn a new trick in sewing, we laugh, learn and swap uh-oh’s with the best quilting teachers in PebbleCreek.
November 2, 2015, the club added Bosom Buddies to our list of charities to support. This is an organization that supplies breast cancer pillows to many hospitals and other locations, including the Cancer Center of America located in Goodyear. They will provide material, batting and all other items needed and volunteers will meet about once every three months to make these pillows. In November the volunteer session made 130 pillows for Bosom Buddies.
Everyone is welcome to join our quilting club; our only prerequisites are you must have a desire to learn, share your knowledge, make mistakes and laugh at yourself. If this is you we are in the Diamondback Room every Tuesday starting at 9:00 a.m. Monday evenings starting at 4:00 p.m. or just check the calendar outside the door and peek in on the fun!
