To good eating belongs good drinking.—German Proverb
No where was that more evident than at the September Wine Club dinner. Chuck Wagner and his late parents, Lorna and Charlie, started Caymus Vineyards in 1972. They were a family of farmers with roots in Napa Valley dating back to the 1850s. Today, the family’s Cabernet offerings are among the region’s most celebrated wines. We were indeed fortunate to have a PebbleCreek chef menu to pair with four dinner wines. Many members declared it was one of the best meals they’ve ever had with the club. From the crab and shrimp Louie appetizer to the double chocolate mousse cake dessert, everyone went home happy.
Reyes Beverage Group Arizona Sales Manager, Robert Gonzalez, introduced our featured wines Emmolo Sauvignon Blanc, Mer Soleil Chardonnay, Sea Sun Pinot Noir, Caymus California Zinfandel, and Caymus Napa Cabernet Sauvignon; highlighting the diversity of the Caymus and Wagner family wine portfolio. Mr. Gonzalez, recognizing the members’ exploration of wines, brought surprise samples of Caymus’ high-end wines for tasting during our reception. It was much appreciated by all.
October is Halloween Night at the Wine Club. Bring Your Own Glass, where members will be able to choose their favorites to pair with an autumn grazing buffet. Costumes are encouraged and a prize will be awarded to Best Costume.
November gets the holiday season off to a great start with Michael David wines. And then Dec. 15 brings our Gala and Daou winery. All proceeds from our Gala raffles and silent auction will be donated directly to Kare Bears. All money raised stays in PebbleCreek and benefits you and Kare Bears many programs. Last year the Wine Club raised over $17,000, and we hope to do the same this year.
We are always welcoming new members. Please visit our website, pcwineclub.com, for details. We’d love to have you join us.
