Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes addressed a large and enthusiastic crowd attending the Sept. 2 meeting of the PebbleCreek Democratic Club at the Tuscany Falls Ballroom.

“This was one of the largest crowds we have ever had at one of our meetings.” said Vicki Barber, President of the PebbleCreek Democratic Club.

Mayes described her efforts to protect all Arizonans from attacks upon their rights and their billfolds by people acting outside of the law. As examples of her efforts, she offered the following.

Protecting Arizona’s children. Mayes played a significant role in the recent Meta settlement protecting Arizona’s children from the addictive algorithms employed by social media providers to “hook” children on social media.

Protecting Arizonans against fraud and price fixing. Mayes is fighting the use of pricing algorithms which have helped landlords fix rental prices and have driven up the cost of renting in Arizona by over 70%. Mayes is also challenging similar algorithms which are allowing health care insurance companies to reduce payments to Arizonans, Arizona doctors, and Arizona hospitals.

Mayes is also investigating fraud in the Arizona school voucher program.

Protecting Arizona’s water.

Protecting Arizonans’ right to free and fair elections.

Mayes concluded, “I am fighting to protect the rights and safety of all Arizonans, regardless of their political inclinations.”
