The PebbleCreek Genealogy Club’s (PCGC) next meeting will be on Monday, Oct. 12, 9 a.m. to noon. PCGC meets the second Monday of each month in the Palm Room in the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse from 9 a.m. to noon. Guests are always welcome!

Coming Up

The Program Committee under the leadership of Donna Paine continues to plan the 2027 program and welcomes ideas for topics and speakers. Here is our program so far:

Oct. 12: “The Lazy Genealogist: Work Smarter not Harder!” by Amy Urman; Tips, Trick or Tales by Bob Paine “My Grandfather Blind Bob”

Oct. 21: Field trip to West Valley Genealogical Society Library

Nov. 9: “Wills and Probate Research” by Suzanne Brayer; Tips, Trick or Tales by Heidi Merrifield “My Family Lore”

Jan. 11: “Eastern European Research” by Moreen Ferdi; Tips, Trick or Tales by Vicky Ferraresi

Feb. 8: “I Can’t Tell a Lie: Parson Weems and the Truth about George Washington’s Cherry Tree, Prayer at Valley Forge, and Other Anecdotes” by James Bish; Tips, Trick or Tales by Kathleen Leo “Daughters of the American Revolution”

Board of Directors Update

We are initiating a collaboration with the genealogy clubs at Sun City Festival (Buckeye) and Trilogy at Vistancia (Peoria). This may include speaking at one another’s meetings and other joint activities. Whatever we decide to work on together, I’m sure all of us will greatly benefit.

The Nomination Committee is working to identify next year’s leadership. Members are encouraged to step up and consider running for one of the positions in the 2027 leadership team.

On the social front, the monthly lunches are a great opportunity for us to get to know each other. Our Mahjong Group is having great fun as more members join in to play this friendly game. We will be having a Christmas luncheon on Dec. 3 at Verrado Grille. It will be another great chance to mix and mingle.

What Did You Miss?

On Sept. 14 Denise Beeson presented “Early American Migration: Why Did They Come?” She provided a lot of food for thought on why and how many of our families likely came to America.

Genealogy Detectives can assist members on starting their research or help when they are “stuck.” Sometimes it is just a matter of getting organized or getting assistance on where or how to start searching for your family. Genealogy Detectives can help jump-start your search. This is a member-only benefit and is a great reason to join PCGC.

Visit our website at pebblecreekgenealogy.club for more information about PCGC. General information is open to all site visitors with additional content (including Genealogy Detectives) available to members only. This is another member benefit and another great reason to join PCGC.

Hope to see you as we learn more about discovering our families!
