On July 2, the PebbleCreek Men’s Nine-Hole Golf Association (PCM9GA) hosted its highly anticipated Red, White, and Blue Tournament on the front nine of the Tuscany West golf course.
More than 60 eager golfers gathered on the course to tackle a non-traditional format that tested both adaptability and course management. Designed to celebrate patriotism, creativity, and skill, the tournament required every participant to alternate tees throughout their round: playing three holes from the forward Red tees, three from the middle White tees, and three from the championship Blue tees
For many club members, the unique tournament structure transformed familiar fairways into entirely new challenges. Shifting tee boxes every hole meant players could not rely on muscle memory or standard club selection.
From the Red Tees: The shorter distance offered risk-reward scenarios, tempting aggressive players to drive near the greens while demanding precise short-game execution to score birdies.
From the White Tees: The comfortable middle ground required classic target golf, balancing fairway accuracy with solid approach shots.
From the Blue Tees: The added distance put extra pressure on drivers, testing long-iron accuracy and course strategy to safeguard pars.
“Playing Tuscany West from three distinct tee markers completely changes how you visualize each hole,” noted one club member after completing his round. “A par-4 from the Red tees feels like a completely different golf course compared to taking it on from the Blue tees. It forces you to think differently on every single hole.”
High Stakes and Team Triumph
While the spirit of the day was focused on fun and fellowship, the competition remained fierce. Teams competed for top honors and a share of the prize money pool which was reported after the tournament on the nine–holers’ website.
Thanks to the alternating tee format, leaderboard scores remained tight throughout the morning. Teams had to lean heavily on strategic communication, carefully deciding who would take key shots depending on the tee location and hazard layout of each hole.
Club organizers officially presented prize money to the top-performing teams, celebrating both gross and net achievements.
“The turnout was fantastic, and seeing over 60 members embrace this format shows how lively our club is,” said a tournament coordinator. “It was a fantastic day of golf, great weather, and exceptional camaraderie.”
With another successful event in the books, members of the PCM9GA are already looking forward to the next specialty format on the schedule.
