The PebbleCreek Genealogy Club’s (PCGC) next meeting will be on Monday, Sept. 14, 9 a.m. to noon. PCGC meets the second Monday of each month in the Palm Room in the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse from 9 a.m. to noon. Guests are always welcome!

Coming Up: Continuing the celebration of America’s 250th birthday, Denise Beeson will present Early American Migration: Why Did They Come?” on Sept. 14. We’re looking forward to hearing about our early American ancestors.

The Program Committee under the leadership of Donna Paine continues to plan the 2027 program and welcomes ideas for topics and speakers. Here is our program so far:

Oct. 21: Field trip to West Valley Genealogical Society Library

Jan. 11, 2027: “Eastern European Research” by Moreen Ferdi

Board of Directors Update

The club bylaws review is complete and the recommended changes with rationale were sent to the members and posted on the members only section of the website. Members reviewed them and some of the recommendations were incorporated into the revisions. Members will vote on approval at the September meeting.

A Nomination Committee will soon be working to identify next year’s leadership. Members are encouraged to step up and consider running for one of the positions in the 2027 leadership team.

On the social front, the monthly lunches continue through the summer. Our Mahjong Group is having great fun as more members join in to play this friendly game. We will be having a Christmas luncheon on Dec. 3 at Verrado Grille. It will be another great chance to mix and mingle.

What Did You Miss?

On Aug. 10, the workshop “Getting Started in Genealogy” was a great introduction to genealogy with great ideas on how to find our ancestors. Genealogy Detectives can assist members on starting their research or help when they are “stuck.” Sometimes it is just a matter of getting organized or getting assistance on where or how to start searching for your family. Genealogy Detectives can help jump-start your search. This is a member-only benefit and is a great reason to join PCGC.

Visit our website at pebblecreekgenealogy.club for more information about PCGC. General information is open to all site visitors with additional content (including Genealogy Detectives) available to members only. This is another member benefit and another great reason to join PCGC.

Questions? Contact President Vicky Ferraresi at presidentpcgenclub@gmail.com about the PCGC. Hope to see you as we learn more about discovering our families!
