The Shalom Club is excited to welcome Rabbi David Rosenberg as the leader of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services this September.
Born in Israel, Rabbi Rosenberg was raised in an Orthodox home rooted in Jewish prayer, learning and service. His father served as both a rabbi and a cantor, and synagogue life shaped his earliest memories.
When he moved to the United States, his leadership evolved into a more liberal approach. He served in congregations across three states, where he led worship, taught adult education, officiated lifecycle events, offered pastoral care, and helped congregants find their own point of connections to Jewish tradition.
At Beth Emeth Congregation, an egalitarian conservative congregation in Sun City West, Rabbi Rosenberg was responsible for changing the profile of the congregation from one serving retirees to a community that included young families. He established a religious school that attracted new members from the greater West Valley Jewish community.
At this stage of his rabbinic life, Rabbi Rosenberg brings more than experience. He brings perspective. Having lived in several Jewish worlds, he understands how to speak across differences while remaining grounded in tradition. He brings reverence for classical sources and an understanding of modern Jewish life—qualities that help make the High Holidays feel sacred, welcoming, and alive.
