Resident Author: Carl Halladay Jr., Musician and Author!

Jean Harris

Many of you may know PebbleCreek resident Carl R. Halladay Jr. as a talented musician and fun member of our community. What makes Carl even more unique is that he is a published author! In October 2024, Carl published My Father’s Legacy: The 80-Year History of Halladay Motors and the Four Owners Who Built It, a memoir about the life of his father, himself, and the legacy of the historic auto dealership in Cheyenne, Wyo.

In his biography, Carl draws from an extensive collection of photographs, personal anecdotes, and over 20 hours of audio recordings by his father, to vividly recount a life dedicated to automobiles, hard work, and entrepreneurship.

Carl is a second-generation car dealer from Cheyenne, who grew up with the legacy of his father’s business and a deep sense of family tradition. Named after his father, Carl Jr. embraced his role in the family dealership, building a career that honored his father’s name while forming connections within the broader community of car dealers. Beyond the dealership, Carl’s passions include music, a lifelong passion sparked by his first guitar at age 8.

My Father’s Legacy is for anyone who loves classic cars, family legacies, or the history of the American automotive industry during some of the most transformative decades in U.S. history. The book is available on Amazon and there are signed copies available in the PebbleCreek Expressions Gallery’s gift shop.
