Academic scholarship recipients from Millennium High School

Over the past eight years, the PebbleCreek Irish American Club (PCIAC) has quietly and steadily made a profound difference in the lives of young people, families, and communities across the West Valley. PCIAC recently surpassed a remarkable milestone: more than $207,000 in charitable donations given to the local community over the past eight years. For club members, that figure represents far more than dollars—it represents futures shaped, families supported, and opportunities created for those who might otherwise have gone without.

This past April, the club hosted one of its most inspiring gatherings of the year as nine academic scholarship recipients from Millennium High School took the floor to address club members in person. Each student delivered a presentation reflecting on their high school journey—the activities that shaped them, the goals they carry into higher education, and the deep gratitude they hold for the parents, teachers, and mentors who walked alongside them.

For those in attendance, the experience was nothing short of moving. The students’ accomplishments—spanning academics, athletics, arts, and community service—spoke to a generation of young people who are determined, grounded, and ready to meet the challenges ahead. “The accomplishments of these individuals and their future aspirations were inspiring to all in attendance,” said a club representative. “These are exactly the kind of young people our group loves to support.”

PCIAC goes beyond traditional academic scholarships to also support Career and Technical Education (CTE). Through a dedicated grants program, the PebbleCreek Irish American Club provides funding to graduates of both Millennium and Desert Edge High Schools who are enrolled in West-MEC’s innovative Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

West-MEC prepares students for high-demand careers in fields ranging from healthcare and culinary arts to construction technology and public safety—equipping graduates with hands-on skills and industry certifications that open doors from day one. Investment in these students reflects member’s understanding there are many pathways to success, and each one deserves support.

This April also brought an opportunity to recognize the extraordinary work of Thrive AZ, as PCIAC made a special donation in honor of the organization’s 10th anniversary. Club members presented the gift to Steve Vogel, President and CEO of Thrive AZ, in recognition of a decade spent serving some of the most vulnerable members of the community. Thrive AZ’s work centers on three critical areas: foster care prevention, biological family reunification, and support for youth transitioning out of foster care.

By connecting young people and families with essential resources and wraparound services that would otherwise be far out of reach, Thrive AZ gives those navigating the child welfare system a fighting chance at stability and belonging.

What makes the PebbleCreek Irish American Club’s charitable leg of their mission so meaningful is consistency. Year after year, members have supported local students, schools, and nonprofits out of our genuine sense of responsibility to the community we call home. Looking ahead, we the members will continue to carry forward a tradition rooted in the best of Irish values: generosity and a belief that lifting others is never a burden, but a privilege.
