The 2026 PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association (PCLGA) Member-Guest Cactus Cup proved once again why this 2-day tournament is a member favorite and one of the most anticipated events of the season—and this year, it was bigger than ever! With a sold-out field of 240 players, PCLGA members and their guests traveled from near and far, ready to soak up two unforgettable days of golf, laughter, and desert-inspired fun.

Dressed in their favorite cactus and desert-themed outfits, the ladies brought both style and spirit to the course. From the first tee shot to the final putt, the energy was high and the smiles radiated between Tuscany Falls East and West courses.

All flights played on both courses over the 2-day tournament. The East course featured a 2-Best Ball format while the West course featured a Shamble format. And in true Cactus Cup fashion, the fun didn’t stop when the clubs were back in the bag. The always-popular Bingo event, called by Chanca Morrell, kept the excitement rolling as she masterfully kept everyone engaged with her wit, charm, and singing skills.

Scattered across the courses, tee signs delivered their own brand of desert wisdom—equal parts clever, cheeky, and just a little bit sassy. Each sign greeted players with a “cactus-ism” that had everyone smiling before they even teed it up. From playful reminders to “stick with it” to lighthearted nudges about keeping your game sharp, the signs added a layer of personality that blended goofy humor and the right amount of truth—because sometimes the best advice comes with a wink and a prickly little punchline.

Under the bright Arizona sun, the competition was lively, and the friendship between players was evident. On the last day, the fun carried on until the final winners were announced. The Eagle’s Nest Pro Shop was transformed into a golfer’s dream boutique, where winners enjoyed the chance to shop ’til they dropped, selecting from the latest in golf apparel and accessories.

The prizes were outstanding once again this year, and both members and guests shared glowing feedback about what a fun and memorable tournament the Cactus Cup was.

A heartfelt thank you, published in the April issue of the PebbleCreek Post, goes out to our generous sponsors, whose support makes this event possible year after year. Another special thank you goes out to Arnold Hickey of PHX Pro Realty and Redline Carts for being a Hole-in-One Sponsor on the East course (#8), and special shoutout to Jeff Frehner of ‘Lectric eBikes for his incredible donation of the XPress Step-Thru eBike, which added an exciting highlight to the prizes.

Behind every great tournament is a dedicated team, and the Cactus Cup was no exception. The co-chairs and committee extend their sincere appreciation to all the behind-the-scenes volunteers—from those stationed on the greens for hole-in-one or closest-to-the-pin contests to the decorating team, and everyone else who generously gave their time and energy, including the golf course management team. Lastly, a huge shoutout to our cactus mascot duo of Bob Curtis and Frank Grady. These two didn’t just stand around looking prickly … they brought just the right amount of “sharp” humor to keep everyone smiling. From warm welcomes to photo ops that had everyone grinning, proving that sometimes it just takes a couple of guys willing to suit up, stand tall, and branch out for a good time.

And of course, no tournament would be complete without a little on-course refreshment! Cheers to the Bogey Boyz and Sandbaggers men’s groups for keeping spirits high with their complimentary cocktails along the way.

From start to finish, the 2026 Cactus Cup was a huge success—a true celebration of golf, friendship, and fun!
