Colorful rope bowls made by the Sewing Club
Lisa Reichert
No, it wasn’t a concert in the PebbleCreek Theater that drew the crowds—it was a Rope Bowl Making Class that filled immediately once it was announced. Due to the overwhelming interest, another date was added to accommodate those on the waiting list. On March 4, the class was taught by our own Paula Handrup and was a huge success. Each participant selected their own fabric and embellishments before class, then learned how to turn simple fabric strips into beautiful bowls.
On March 18, the club held a Tips and Tools class. Linda Publicover instructed participants on the proper needles and threads to use for a variety of sewing projects.
Upcoming Classes
April 1—Join in the fun while helping a good cause. The club will be sewing dresses to donate to Samaritan’s Purse. This class will be facilitated by Edna DeFord.
April 15—The club will host another charity sew day, making Dining Scarves for Hospice of the Valley. These scarves help protect residents’ clothing while dining. The upper portion of the scarf is sewn from quilted fabric and then attached to an absorbent terry cloth dish towel.
