The Holiday Party for the Rug Hookers of PebbleCreek has been held the January following the holidays for the last few years, to avoid too many other social functions. This year our event was held on Jan. 12 at the beautifully holiday decorated home of member Nancy Kyle. Nancy decorates her home in such a delightful way that was very festive. We had 20 of our 32 members attending,and we are a group that always has lots of fun. In addition, it was a potluck, so we had many delicious appetizers, salads, main dishes, and desserts.
Everyone brought a wrapped gift for our gift exchange. We drew numbers and in order, the person drew a gift from the table and opened it to share with the group. There were many very inventive and thoughtful gifts. A great time was had by all.
If you haven’t seen our displays in the Creative Arts Center yet, we have them in April, October, and the following January. Our group meets every Monday from noon to 4 p.m. in the Fiber Arts Room. We would love to have you come in to see what we do and talk to us about it. We love to share this art that we love. You’ll find that our group is very welcoming. We have hookers, from new to very experienced, and we also have an instructor for anyone who thinks they want to learn. There is a small fee, we will supply some things you will need, others you will purchase. We do have loaner frames that are available for up to three months as these are the most expensive items needed to get started.
