PC Live on Stage – March 2026

Audition Information: PC Players Fall Production, “The Outsider”

Carrie Mataraza

If you love funny and enjoy being funny, you should consider auditioning for a role in The Outsider, PC Players’ show on stage Oct. 20–24. Director Sue Tearpak is looking for four men and three women, an ensemble cast of seven, who can “bring the house down“ in this spirited satirical comedy that is perfect for this election year.

Here is a little peek:

Ned Newley, who is terrified of public speaking and very uncomfortable in big crowds, suddenly finds himself governor of his state due to circumstances no one predicted. Actually, if the public were looking for the worst candidate ever to run for office, he’s the guybut somehow…

What happens, through a series of twists and turns, makes The Outsider a laugh-out-loud (lots of those) comedy targeting the political process while also celebrating our democracy. Alongside Ned, the characters who make up this crew are Paige, a smart and professional pollster; Dave, the new governor’s Chief of Staff; Louise, a temp hired as the Governor’s executive assistant; Arthur, an experienced, overbearing political consultant; Rachel, a TV reporter, cynical, straight-forward and honest; A.C., TV camera man, a silent type guy you don’t much notice.

Open Mic Night Highlights Musician Daniel Krause

Carrie Mataraza

Open Mic Night has been entertaining PebbleCreek for almost a year. The evenings of performances by resident talent has gained quite a following, so much so that the venue was moved to Eagle’s Nest Ballroom to accommodate a larger audience and the next Open Mic Night is scheduled for Friday, March 27, at 6 p.m. in the Eagles Nest Ballroom.

In case you have never attended Open Mic Night in our community, it is patterned after open mics on-the-spot performances that have flourished since the 1950s at coffee houses and comedy venues. Here in PebbleCreek, performers include singers, magicians, musicians, and comedians who bring us the “magic” of live entertainment that is eclectic and fun to watch.

One of the PebbleCreek Open Mic performers who has a crowd of fans is Daniel Krause, a professional musician who attended the Neupauer Music Conservatory in Philadelphia, Pa., and the Milwaukee Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee, Wis.

Daniel has played piano professionally since the 1970s. His awesome career includes touring all over the United States and Canada for 34 years with the 1960’s popular band Paul Revere and the Raiders. Daniel also played and toured with many other popular music artists of the 1960s and 1970s including the Righteous Brothers, Mitch Ryder (Detroit Wheels), Peter Rivera (lead singer/drummer for Rare Earth), Mary Wilson of the Supremes, The Association, Chuck Negron (original Three Dog Night singer), Sam Moore (Sam & Dave), Nancy Sinatra, and many other hit makers of the times. Dan also did extensive work as a studio musician.

Add to Daniel’s resume multiple tours in the Pacific entertaining U.S. Troops and multiple years at the annual ‘Ride to the Wall’ celebration of U.S. Troops in Washington, D.C. Wow!

Luckily for all of us in PebbleCreek, Daniel lives here and performs as time allows him on Open Mic Nights. His repertoire includes solo piano performances featuring a wide variety of music styles: classical music, popular rock and jazz standards, blues, patriotic, ragtime, as well as favorite songs our audience knows and recognizes. We are looking forward to more music from Daniel at some of our Open Mic Nights and invite you to come hear him and all the other resident entertainers in PebbleCreek.

Read more about us, and see the upcoming show schedule on our website: sites.google.com/view/pebblecreekopenmic/home.

As always, there is open seating with a small cover charge of $5, cash only. $5 bills are appreciated! Tickets are sold in the Eagle’s Nest (EN) Ballroom lobby beginning at 5:30 p.m. the day of the show that begins at 6 p.m.

To add to your enjoyment, you can bring in food from the Eagles Nest restaurant. Call 623-935-6785 if you’d like to make reservations for dinner before the show or to order take-out that you can enjoy in the Ballroom during the show. New: a cash bar will be open in the EN lobby as well.

We encourage and invite all residents of PebbleCreek to sign up for a 10-minute slot to share their music, magic, and comedy with the community. Or you can also send us an email at pcopenmicclub@gmail.com to get more information and ask any questions you have.

Coming Soon: Auditions for Showtime’s Fall Production

Showtime’s Where Legends Began is an original revue telling the story of New York City’s Bitter End, the oldest rock club in the city. The Bitter End first opened in 1961 as a coffee house featuring folk singers, poets, and comedians. As tastes in music evolved it became a prime venue for pop and rock singers. The Bitter End is still alive and well hosting a variety of fabulous performers and future entertainment stars. The production will feature tributes to some of the many great performers who got their start at the Bitter End.

Auditions will be held in the theater on the evenings of March 23 and 25, while the show itself will be performed Nov. 16 through 21. The director will be looking for talented singers, a couple of comedians, musicians (keyboard, guitar, drums), and there will also be three major speaking roles.

To obtain an audition packet and receive an audition time, or for further information, please contact the director Dave Silverstein at davestdc@aol.com or 201-819-5879, or the assistant director Greg Davis at corvettegreg8@gmail.com or 925-595-0462.
