Our Helping Others Together group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the home of Kathy Cheek. The group gathers to create mats for the homeless by cutting plastic bags into strips, linking them together, and crocheting them into 3’ x 6’ mats. Once completed, the mats are rolled up and finished with a shoulder-carrying band and a tag that reads, “1 Corinthians 13:13—Made for you with love by the ladies of PebbleCreek.” These mats can be used either to lie on or to wrap around oneself, providing warmth and comfort. Those who joined in January were from left to right Marie Randall, Ellen Levy, Jean Kotula, Kathy Cheek, Jane Klima, Angelle’ Hicks, Carol Pearce, and Toni Erickson (not pictured).
