The PebbleCreek Genealogy Club (PCGC) next general meeting will be on Monday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to noon. PCGC meets the second Monday of each month in the Palm Room in the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse from 9 a.m. to noon. Guests are always welcome!
On March 9, Suzanne Young Brayer will educate the club about census records. Ms. Brayer is an educator, historical researcher, and avid genealogist with more than 30 years’ experience. Her involvement in researching her family began when she began working with her father, discovering Mayflower ancestors, Revolutionary War patriots, and a few criminals along the way. Like most of us she represents the “melting pot” of American culture.
Ms. Brayer has held numerous positions in the Family History Society of Arizona and the Arizona Genealogical Advisory Board. She is a ProGen graduate, and a member of The Arizona Council of Professional Genealogists, NGS, and DAR.
Coming up:
* April 13: “Making the Most of Newspaper Research” by Dave Gaboury
* May 11: “Genealogy in Chaos: Getting and Staying Organized by Robert Wilbanks
What did you miss? On Feb. 9, Janna Larson presented “Loves Labours—Finding Female Ancestry.” We learned strategies to find those elusive female ancestors. Ms. Larson is a professional genealogist and the owner of Janna’s Genealogy Services. She has been an avid genealogist since 1981, has been a member of the Family History Society of Arizona since 1982 holding many offices in the Society. She has taught throughout the Phoenix area and is a frequent and well-known genealogical lecturer in the state. Read more about her on her website at jannalarson.weebly.com/jannas-genealogy-services.html.
Following the speaker, Tips and Tricks returned! Vicky Ferraresi presented ”Prologue, an online publication of NARA.” This fact filled resource and how to access it was reviewed. Several members shared how they found it helped them with their family research.

Genealogy Detectives can assist members on starting their research or help when they are “stuck.” Sometimes it is just a matter of getting organized or getting assistance on where or how to start searching for your family. The Genealogy Detectives can help jump-start your search. This is a member-only benefit and is a great reason to join PCGC.
Visit our website at pebblecreekgenealogy.club for more information about PCGC. General information is open to all site visitors with additional content (including Genealogy Detectives) available to members only. This is another member benefit and another great reason to join PCGC.
