Kathy Stauffer
Jim Smith
The PebbleCreek Woodcarvers Club is recognizing Kathy Stauffer as the February 2026 Carver of the Month. Kathy has been a member of the club since 2017 and is one of the more adventurous carvers. Kathy has completed all sorts of carving projects ranging from birds, the full-sized Red–tailed Hawk in the display case, to intarsia, pyrography (wood burning), relief carving, Northwest Indian style carving, to stone, and many others. She has also led classes on many of these different carving methods.
Kathy and husband Barry relocated to PebbleCreek from Fort Dodge, Iowa, but Kathy still retains an attachment to Philadelphia, Pa., where she was raised. Kathy is one of the few members who had carved prior to joining the club. With this background, she has become a fixture in the carving room and is a great source of help and inspiration with her enthusiasm for the various carving techniques. Kathy carves with sharp tools, knives and gouges, and the micromotor (similar to a Dremel). She has held many of the club offices and is currently helping keep our class schedule current and up to date.
Please join me in congratulating Kathy on this well deserved recognition.
