Super Freaks Are Coming!

Lori Adair

What do you get when you combine four patients in a mental institution who believe they have super powers, a lax security system, a complacent doctor, and a nosy reporter? Hilarity ensues as you watch the antics of these characters! Don’t miss out on this fun event! “Super Freaks” is coming to the Renaissance Theater March 10 through 14. Bring a friend who’s never been to a show before!

Annual Performing Arts Council Event

Dave Silverstein, Performing Arts Council Chair

The Pebble Creek Performing Arts Council invites you to attend an informative and entertaining event at 10 a.m. on Feb. 19 in our theater. The council is composed of our four resident performing groups: PC Players, PC Musicians, PC Singers, and Showtime. Each group will entertain and provide information about how you can become a member and how you can purchase tickets for future performances.

When the entertainment portion of the event ends, we will move into the Chianti Room for coffee and cookies. There you will have an opportunity to speak to club members and learn more about each group. In addition, you will learn about our need for folks to work in our sound and lighting booth and in support areas including backstage, publicity, makeup, and set design. Each of the performing groups will be raffling off two free tickets to the opening night of their next performance. While this event is primarily designed to inform newcomers to our community, anyone wishing to learn more about our resident performing groups is welcome to attend. If you have not been to one of our shows in the Renaissance Theater, you will absolutely be amazed by the talent we have here in PebbleCreek.

PebbleCreek Big Band Concerts

Susan Kice

Do you love the sounds of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington? Or are you more into swing or jazz or pop tunes? How ‘bout “oldies but goodies” that span the decades from the ’40s to the ’70s? Songs made popular by such artists as Bobby Darrin, Bette Midler, Rosemary Clooney, or Michael Bublé and others will also be part of the program. Whatever your taste in music you’ll be sure to hear your favorite when the PebbleCreek Big Band presents “Burst of Music XVIII … A Fling with Swing” on Feb. 26, 27, and 28.

With 18 talented musicians, Jeff Buda directing, and comedienne Elysa Luick acting as MC, the three evenings will prove to be a sell-out. In addition to the musicians, six popular PebbleCreek vocalistsPatti Hall, Pat Ingalls, Barry Jeannelle, Don Mayo, Chanca Morrell, and Becky Trimblewill also be gracing the Renaissance Stage.

If you’ve heard the PC Big Band in the past you know what to expect, and if you haven’t you’re in for a real treat. Don’t miss this one!

Tickets for this performance go on sale on Monday, Jan. 26, at 8 a.m.

Open Mic Night in 2026

Carrie Mataraza

FYI fans of Open Mic Night and everyone in PebbleCreek (PC) who loves live entertainment!

Open Mic Night is celebrating the new year by moving to a new day and location for its performances. Beginning in January, Open Mic will be held in the Eagles Nest Ballroom at 6 p.m. on scheduled Friday nights. The first date is Friday, Jan. 9, and the second date is Friday, Jan. 23. You can check future dates on the club website at sites.google.com/view/pebblecreekopenmic/home with more to be added soon. We will be sure to remind you!

Open Mic Club originated last May to offer our community the special experience of easy-going live entertainment by a group of talented people who love to perform. They are PC residents, many of whom you may recognize from the Renaissance stage, who enjoy singing, playing their music, doing a comedy “schtick,” and even doing some artful magic. Happily, Open Mic Night has quickly developed a great lineup of performers as well as a loyal audience.

As the Mission Statement says, Open Mic Club “encourages and invites all residents of PebbleCreek to share their talent in an open environment where people can sign up for a 10-minute slot to perform music, comedy, or magic.” If you are a PebbleCreeker, performing individually or in a group, who enjoys the camaraderie of fellow performers, an informal setting, and the support of an enthusiastic audience, we welcome you. Come and share your talent with the community. We promise you‘ll have a lot of fun in the Open Mic Night spotlight.

If you would like to perform, submit your act using our new signup form. If you have any questions or problems with the form, please email us at pcopenmicclub@gmail.com.

Tickets are only $5 and are sold right before each show, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Eagles Nest Ballroom.

Whether you are behind the mic or in front of the audience, please mark your calendar and join us. Make it your new year’s resolution!

PebbleCreek Singers Celebrate Successful Holiday Concert

Donna Swagger

The PebbleCreek Singers celebrated “A Joyous Holiday” with another outstanding holiday concert. The Singers extend their thanks to the PebbleCreek (PC) community, their friends, and their family for their continued support.

The choristers “season finale” was a celebration banquet held on Dec. 9 in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. Director Jerry Drake, the Singers, and the production staff enjoyed an evening of relaxation, fun, and great food hosted by the organization’s Executive Board. It was also a time of expressing appreciation to all the people who contributed their time and talent to make the concert a success. Currently, the chorus is enjoying a well-deserved six-week break.

The chorus will resume rehearsals in mid-January for an all-new, exciting spring concert. Concert dates are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 30 through May 2. Watch for future articles in the PebbleCreek Post for program details and dates of ticket sales.

We invite you to become a part of the PC Singers family. Join now and be on stage with us for the spring 2026 concert. The audition process is simple and private. Contact Virginia Baker at 623-248-6323 or pick up an application form at the club information center located across from the Eagle’s Nest Pro Shop. We are always excited to have new voices in the chorus.

Happy New Year from Director Jerry Drake and the PebbleCreek Singers!
