The Agua Fria High School District is proud to announce the launch of the Superintendent’s Academic Super Stars, a monthly recognition program designed to highlight students who exemplify academic excellence.
Each month, outstanding students from Agua Fria, Canyon View, Desert Edge, Goodyear, Millennium, and Verrado will be selected for their achievements in areas such as prestigious scholarships, high ACT scores, and exceptional grades. These students serve as role models for their peers, demonstrating the dedication, resilience, and commitment to learning that define the best of the Agua Fria High School District.
In addition, the District will feature outstanding student achievements across multiple platforms. The program will highlight National Merit Scholarship students, recognition of the top 5% of students, those who have achieved outstanding ACT scores, as well as students accepted into Ivy League colleges, and “Portrait of a Graduate” students. The initiative will conclude with recognizing the Superintendent’s Academic Super Stars (top 1% scholars).
“The Superintendent’s Academic Super Stars initiative recognizes the incredible effort and excellence demonstrated by the best and brightest students of Agua Fria High School District,” said Superintendent Mark Yslas. “These young scholars set the standard for academic achievement and embody the spirit of learning that defines Agua Fria High School District.”
As part of this program, a select group of exceptional students will be featured on a billboard along the I-10 freeway to honor their accomplishments and contributions. The design will highlight student names and incorporate distinctive branding for the initiative, serving as a public tribute to their hard work, leadership, and academic excellence.
The program will culminate with recognition events at each campus, and each will be unique in how they celebrate their students, such as through Principal’s Lists, assemblies, award breakfasts, Student of the Month honors, or weekly spotlights. These students will also be recognized at District board meetings. This Districtwide celebration allows students, families, and staff to applaud the accomplishments of these high-achieving scholars.
By recognizing students who push themselves to achieve at the highest levels, the Superintendent’s Academic Super Stars program underscores the District’s commitment to cultivating a culture of academic excellence and inspiring all students to reach their fullest potential.
