The PebbleCreek Men’s Golf Association (PCMGA) annually conducts a two-man scramble event that serves a dual purpose. It is a regular men’s day tourney, but six teams also qualify to enter the Arizona Golf Association’s (AGA) Club Team Championship. The tourney was played on Sept. 5 at our Eagle’s Nest Golf Course.
In this event, 13 teams in the Gross/Net flight played from the blue tees and 33 teams in the Super Senior flight (age 65+) played from the white tees. This was the first year that the qualifying age for Super Senior was reduced from 70+ to 65+. This was a form-your-own team event. Team handicaps were calculated by adding 35% of the A player’s handicap to 15% of the B player’s handicap.
The teams that qualified to move on to the AGA Club Team Championship Regionals were offered a choice of where to play: Mountain Brook in Gold Canyon (Gross/Net and Super Seniors) on Nov. 14, Wigwam in Litchfield Park (Gross/Net only) on Nov. 12, or Mountainview in Tucson (Gross/Net and Super Seniors) on Nov. 17. The Finals will be played at Las Sendas in Mesa on Dec. 1.
