The PebbleCreek Community Church choir was treated to a home-cooked breakfast to introduce this year’s Christmas cantata.
The PebbleCreek Community Church (PCCC) choir (35 people strong) was treated to a home-cooked breakfast by their choral director, Katie Croy. Katie planned this special September event to introduce this year’s Christmas cantata, “Heaven’s Greatest Gift,” which they will perform in December.
Every July, Katie attends the four-day Alleluia Music Conference in Waco, Texas. Each day offers sessions featuring a wide variety of writers, directors, arrangers, publishers, and presenters. Katie leaves this conference exhausted, but elated and inspired after carefully choosing our church’s choral music for the year. She is gifted at selecting arrangements that convey the heartfelt message of the gospel and match the skill level of our choir. The PCCC choir is open to anyone in the community who chooses to participate and can commit to Tuesday rehearsals from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Robson Theatre and an 8 a.m. warm-up prior to the worship service Sunday mornings.
Katie feels the creator and arranger of this Christmas worship experience, John Bolin, has a unique ability to bring the music and words of each cantata song to life. In explaining his motivation for this original composition, Bolin states, “The beauty of Christmas is found in the awe-inspiring reality that God gave us the greatest Gift the world has ever known—His Son, Jesus Christ. Beyond the lights, traditions, and celebrations, this season is a divine reminder that Heaven opened its gates and sent us the perfect Gift of love, hope, and redemption. The birth of Jesus was not just another moment in history—it was the moment that changed eternity. His coming brought light into darkness, hope to the hopeless, and salvation to all who would receive Him. Through Jesus, we have been given the gift of forgiveness, freedom, and eternal life—something no earthly treasure could ever compare to.”
After several weeks of preparation, the Cantata will be presented on Sunday evening, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. The church invites all our PebbleCreek neighbors and their families to attend and enjoy the Christmas cookie reception afterwards. We promise every song, every melody, and every moment of this presentation will remind you of the true reason we rejoice this Christmas.
