Rescue of the Month: Meet Scotty!

Scotty

Scotty was rescued in February 2025 outside of PebbleCreek. He was found by a teenager out walking, and her mom contacted us a week later when their efforts to find his owner were unsuccessful. His teenage rescuer called him Hunter, but his new mom and dad have named him Scotty.

Once rescued, the Pet Companions Club got him his first shots and scheduled his neuter procedure. He was about 4 months old, and just the happiest little puppy that you can imagine! He was fostered by Susan Anderson for a few days as he very quickly found his forever home in PebbleCreek. His new mom and dad are so happy to have him. He is full of energy and loves his toys. He’s great at playing fetch.

Scotty is being kept at home and not walked until he has received all of his puppy vaccines. A dog or puppy who is not fully vaccinated against parvo can contract parvo from coming into contact with contaminated surfaces, such as the street or sidewalks, where the parvo virus can live for weeks, months, or years in the soil.

We usually try to keep our rescue efforts contained to just within PebbleCreek, but we will occasionally take in animals from outside if we are certain that we can find them a good home. Scotty is believed to be a Maltese/Yorkie mix, and is so adorable, we knew we could easily re-home him. We had multiple inquiries about adopting him within minutes of posting this cutie on the PebbleCreek Residents Facebook page.

Scotty is also an example of why your tax-deductible donations to our club are vital. We need those donations to pay the veterinarian bills for our rescued cats and dogs. We have recently made it easier to donate to us by adding Zelle as an option. You can send us a donation through Zelle at [email protected], or send us a check by mail to The Pet Companions Club of PebbleCreek, PO Box 6106, Goodyear, AZ, 85338-0619.
