We’re celebrating the new year in the Expressions Gallery with a vast collection of craft items meant to enchant you.
Make no bones about it—if you’re looking for a new piece of jewelry, we have just the thing. As the photo highlights, etched bone beads and pendants have been used to complete new necklaces and earrings and are also in play to compose something unique. Jewelry design/making is always a work in progress.
Your exploration of the Creative Arts Center will have you winding past studios used for glassmaking, wood design, painting, beading, fiber arts, and ceramics. You are always invited into the studios to observe art in the making and perhaps join a club to fulfill your own artistic desires.
The fiber arts studio is home to Knimble Kneedles, a crochet and knitting club that provides baby hats and blankets to local charities; various quilter groups whose work is often displayed overhead in the Center’s hallways, and a surprising number of other crafters. Come down and explore. Each studio has a listing at its doorway of the times the various clubs meet.
If you still have post-holiday guests lingering with you, bring them with you to tour this local craft business—perhaps they’ll provide you with a spur-of-the-moment thank-you gift!
