Ceramics Is Fun!

Gena Wikstrom

It was a busy season for members of the Ceramics Club. Members continue to learn new techniques at our popular “Workshop Wednesday” classes. On a recent Wednesday, Ann Economou taught how to use cardboard to create linear design. Each piece was unique and beautiful. Who knew a corrugated box lid could create a “masterpiece?”

About 60 members and their guests enjoyed launching the holiday season at a dinner in the Chianti Room. We were entertained by the PebbleCreek Singers, who brought us the sounds of the season, putting all in a joyous mood for even more fun. And who dropped by? Santa! A silent auction of numerous baskets donated by the board and members was enjoyable, and the proceeds contributed to the ongoing work of the club. Then, a fun game to determine who went home with the table centerpieces concluded the evening.

Ceramics is fun. The people are fun. Come by the studio in the Creative Arts Center and see if this craft could be right for you!
