Curt Zimmerman

The Men’s Christian Fellowship of PebbleCreek (MCFPC) is back in full swing and will meet again Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 a.m. in the Tuscany Falls Chianti Room. The group meets the first Wednesday of each month with guest presenters focusing on a variety of interesting topics. The next speaker will be Harold Patterson, who will provide an update on the work being conducted by International Hope Builders (IHP), an organization that strives to fight homelessness in hard hit areas of the world.

With over 40 years of contractor experience working on larger projects such as churches, medical offices, and commercial centers Harold works with IHP to provide affordable, high-quality housing in resource starved parts of the world. IHP, with headquarters in Arvada, Colo., uses the Lazarian World Home Building System, using Styrofoam building blocks that allows for quick assembly of affordable homes. Formed in 2010, IHP projects include schools, medical clinics, senior housing units, and community feeding facilities.

Macario De La Cruz, director of community relations for the Center of Arizona Policy, provided an update on key issues facing Arizona families in his address to members and guests at the Oct. 2 Fellowship meeting.

The MCFPC also provides outreach opportunities including traveling to St. Mary’s Food Bank in Surprise. For more information contact Jim Sykes at 614-395-4907. Weekly bible studies are available every Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. by zoom and in person at the Chianti Room annex. For more information contact Neil Smith at [email protected].
