PebbleCreek Breast Cancer Group Resumes Fall Meetings

Jennifer Smith

The PebbleCreek Breast Cancer Discussion Group met in July for breakfast at the Eagles Nest Restaurant. This was an extra special gathering as we celebrated our founder Rayma Scalzo’s 82nd birthday. We will resume meetings on the fourth Thursday of the month at the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. Our next meeting is at 10 a.m. on Sept. 26. This day we will have guest speakers from the local City of Hope campus and Cancer Fighters group. Dr. Shildt, retired oncologist, and his wife Kitty will also return to our meetings during the fall and winter months. We are planning events for October and November, so please come to share your ideas.

Join us if you are facing surgery, recovering from surgery, thinking about reconstruction, or just need a group to talk to about your cancer journey. We have a lot of cancer survivors in the group and want you to know that we are here for you. This is a great opportunity to learn from others who are currently or have also been through breast cancer. We share many laughs, as laughter is an important part of healing. Know that our support group is confidential and is a safe place to share. We are blessed to be able to gather in the beautiful PebbleCreek facilities of the Tuscany Clubhouse.

Also, a special gift may be waiting for you! Please reach out if you, or you know another resident who has treatment pending. We have a special pillow, made by the PebbleCreek Sewing Club, that we would like to give you. The pillows provide comfort following surgery or reconstruction. If you want to chat, receive a pillow, or get more information, don’t hesitate to call facilitator Jennifer Smith.

Please RSVP to Jennifer Smith at 602-618-1203 or [email protected] for the specific meeting room before our meeting on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. in the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. At the end of this meeting we will gather for lunch at Eagles Nest. We hope to see you there!
