Robert “Bob” M. Johnson
Mr. Robert “Bob” M. Johnson, 80, a resident of Seattle, Washington, died on May 17, 2015, in Goodyear, Arizona.
He was born February 23, 1935, in Eugene, Oregon, to Martin and Hulda Johnson.
Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Air Force as a captain from 1958 to 1961.
Mr. Johnson earned his B.A. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University and his M.B.A. from the University of Washington. Many found him to have quick wit and sharp intellect.
He was employed as a superintendent at Mills Bethlehem Steel – Seattle Plant. He served as a member on numerous community boards and committees. He was an avid reader, skilled craftsman and master woodcarver.
When the weather turned hot he and Jan traveled north to their home state of Washington. His favorite place in the world was the family home he built on Waldron Island where he spent summers with his family since the 1940s. When the weather up north turned cold and wet they followed the sun south. He truly enjoyed snow birding at PebbleCreek, Arizona with his wife, teaching wood carving and playing pickleball with his many friends.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 57 years Janis “Jan” Johnson, sons Karl Johnson (Annissa), Andy Johnson (Janine) and Matt Johnson (Roxane) as well as four grandchildren Thomas Franz, Meagan, Evan and Bjorn Johnson. No matter where we are he is always with his friends and family as he lives on in our hearts.
Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents and sister Violet Chambers.
