PebbleCreek’s newest party/dance band returns to the Tuscany Falls Ballroom on Sunday, Jan. 21 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The Dogs will be bringing their “tricks” to friends and neighbors with music to dance to from the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s—Motown, R&B, pop, soul, and dance tunes. The band is an eight-piece horn band consisting of Mike Perkins and Jeff Buda on saxophones, Teddi English on trumpet, Jim Ledford on bass, Doug Harris on drums, Kim Ballew on rhythm guitar and vocals, Brian Wentz on lead guitar and vocals, and Bob Wikstrom on keyboard and vocals.
Wikstrom still hauls around a very large and very heavy Hammond organ to their shows. “I’ve had this rig that I bought from Ann Wilson of Heart better than 20 years ago. It’s a classic sound, and I just wouldn’t know how to play without it. Besides, my band member buddies so enjoy helping lift it.”
Their repertoire includes tunes from such artists as Chicago; Earth, Wind & Fire; The Temptations; Four Tops; Kool & The Gang; Hall & Oates; Bob Seager; Wilson Pickett; and others designed to get feet tappin’, heads noddin’, and the dance floor shakin’. The Jan. 21 show and dance begins at 6 p.m. in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. The doors and bar open at 5:30 p.m. So get your groove on and plan for fun! There’s a $5 cover charge at the door.
