Spain recently suffered an invasion by a select group of PebbleCreek residents. No lives were lost even though the invasion lasted 17 days. The invading group suffered sore feet, slight sunburns, and, for a few, enlarged waistlines.
The invaders reportedly landed in Madrid on Aug. 30 and fled on Sept. 15. From Madrid they ventured to Burgos, Santander, Biblos, San Sebastain, Pamplona, Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Costa Del Sol, Seville, Cordova, Toledo, and finally back to Madrid. Fears were calmed upon arrival at Pamplona as the Running of the Bulls had already taken place several weeks prior.
Each city warmly welcomed the invaders by plying them with various local tapas often accompanied with sangria, local wine, or a Spanish beer. As a result, no prisoners were taken although the National Police force did question an invader at length. All ended well as the invader was given a healthy handshake and several uniform shoulder patches.
The invasion was organized by AAA Travel in Goodyear who transferred invading authority to Trafalgar Tours. Invading participants included: Patti and Dean Wegehaupt , Anna Jarvis, Renee Reid, Lauri Mason, Judy Schmidt, Danielle Lightener, Jack Stroud, Joanne Benz, and Ken Duvall.
