The PebbleCreek Ukulele Club is pleased to announce that we will be playing at the Glendale Folk Festival in March. This will be our third time performing at the festival that celebrates all acoustic music including bluegrass, country, blues, folk, Hawaiian, and more. The annual event, which is free, is held at Saguaro Ranch Park in Glendale at 9802 N 59th Avenue on Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5.
The PC Ukulele Club’s performance is at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 at the Maintenance Shed stage at the north end of the park, near the library. We perform under the name “Island Style.” At 3 p.m. on Saturday, some members will present a workshop on Hawaiian/Caribbean strumming, hula, and singing. This will be held at the Gilligan’s Island location.
Saguaro Ranch Historic Park is an interesting location with lots to learn about the history of the Ranch and to see the resident peacocks. It is a wonderful venue for the festival and enjoying music.
Our PebbleCreek Ukulele Club is growing in leaps and bounds. We enjoy making music together, and fun and laughter is had by all. If you are interested in finding out what a joyful and versatile instrument the ukulele is, then visit us. We meet every Thursday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Palm Room in the Eagle’s Nest clubhouse. You are welcome to come and learn or just listen and perhaps sing along with us. Playing the ukulele is a wonderful way to have fun and make new friends. Musical experience is not required, and we can teach you how to play.
We hope some of you can join us at the Glendale Folk Festival, March 4 and 5, at Saguaro Ranch Park in Glendale.
