On Saturday, March 7, 192 players hit the links at Tuscany Falls in PebbleCreek in support of Homeless Youth Connection. Now in its fourth year, the Tee Off for Teens Golf Tournament was a huge success. Almost half the field consisted of PebbleCreek residents; they have been the foundation of this tournament since the beginning. The players had excellent conditions as they drove the greens of Tuscany Falls’ three courses. Six teams won their flights with incredible scores; we had a number of players that got closest to the pin and we even had one golfer who shot a hole in one. Congrats to Matt Bogart for hitting his first hole in one.
The event sold out early thanks to the dedicated efforts on an incredible golf committee–John Spooler and Barb Bunger of PebbleCreek along with Margaret and Mike Hedrick, Peggy and Ray Kusler. Thanks to their efforts HYC had overwhelming community support including over 40 hole sponsors, 51 raffle items, numerous sponsors and a sold out field of golfers.
Building on the success of Key to Hope, HYC is excited to announce Racing for Hope, Saturday, May 2 from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. at The Wigwam. This unique and festive gala features a blend of rustic Southwestern elegance with the pageantry and grand traditions of the Kentucky Derby. Described as “the greatest two minutes in sports,” the 141st Kentucky Derby will be just one part of the festivities of this fabulous afternoon.
Guests will enjoy all the grand traditions of the Kentucky Derby, including sipping mint juleps, our signature drink The Mustang, donning fashionable derby hats and wagering on the ponies, all while socializing in a “millionaires’ row” setting and feasting on Southern and Southwestern culinary delights. The event culminates in the Run for the Roses, which will be simulcast on large screens placed throughout the setting for all to see and enjoy.
We are currently reserving sponsorship packages and encouraging early reservations in anticipation of this inaugural event benefiting homeless youth in the West Valley. Please call Dawn Bogart at 623-374-3747 for more information.
