What’s a great way to get some exercise, meet new people, improve your putting and just have some fun? Why it’s the PC Putters Club of course! These ladies (and a few gents!) get together weekly to improve their game, laugh at their mistakes, cheer each other’s victories and just relax and have a great time! The group formed in February 2015 and already has over 140 members, with over 100 playing each Wednesday morning at either 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. at the Tuscany Falls putting greens. The cost is $10 a year to join and $4 a week in greens fees, $2 of which goes into the prize fund.
Each Wednesday morning Golf staff set up an 18 hole course. Holes are designed to putt from 15 to 30 feet. Two to four ladies start at each hole and rotate around the course until all holes are completed. Scores are added after each hole and par is 36. Scores are totaled when the round is completed and there is a hole-in-one prize awarded.
Director of Golf Jason Whitehill sees the Lady Putters as part of a program to “make golf mean more things to more people.” “The PC Putters is a great first step in creating a place for players of all skill levels in our golf program,” he adds.
What does it offer? A chance to play golf and make friends that requires less skill, less money and less time—but more fun! Some players seek to improve their putting skills, while others choose to just relax and enjoy. Carrie Hull, President of the PC Putters, seeks to improve her skill levels but also enjoys the social aspects of “meeting players of all skill levels from beginners to advanced.” Carrie notes that members have a great time and membership is growing weekly, mostly by word of mouth. She encourages everyone to come out and give it a try; you might just be surprised at how much fun you have! For more information about the PC Putters Club contact Carrie Hull at 623-535-1430.
