Sharon Adamy won Best of Show in the spring 2014 Juried Spring Exhibition held April 18 to 30 at the Sedona Arts Center. Her painting entitled Twilight on the Seine was one of 75 accepted entries out of the 135 images entered. The Judge was Leslie B. DeMille who has been an instructor at the Scottsdale Artists’ School since 1984. Yes, he is related to the late Cecile B. DeMille. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Navy Combat Art Museum in Washington, D.C. and he has won dozens of awards in the nation’s leading art shows. Needless to say, this is a very prestigious show featuring leading pastel artists from around the country.
Sharon is a Signature Member of the New Mexico Pastel Society and gives workshops in pastel at the Creative Arts Center. She teaches beginning and intermediate/advanced workshops; sign up for her classes when they are offered. She is fun and a good teacher from which to learn pastels.
Congratulations to other PebbleCreek Art Club members juried in the show: Gretchen Olberding, Diane Greenich and Ila Larson.
