Water aerobics is the performance of aerobic exercises in the water. Classes are held in our Tuscany swimming pool Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Here in PebbleCreek we are fortunate to have two instructors, Sue and Jason. Sue usually instructs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Jason instructs on Tuesdays and Thursdays but depending on their schedules this does vary.
During one of Jason’s classes we had over 60 residents participate—50 women and 10 very lucky guys. Jason, says that Water Aerobics is for old people and those classes are held at the YMCA. He gives us a “Water Workout” and he starts off all his classes by playing our National Anthem and we all sing and pay respect to our flag, our country and those who have served our country. Then it’s work, work, work. Jason plays some fun music and continually reminds us to “keep our core engaged.” He is part water instructor, part entertainer and occasionally tries to tell a golf joke or two. We work out to some great and funny C&W songs like Corn Star, Keep Your Hands to Yourself and many more and the time flies.
Sue’s classes are also challenging and typically the pool is not as crowded. Again, all classes are held Monday-Friday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the Tuscany swim complex. If you have not attended one of these classes we always welcome more residents. Feel free to contact me for more information or just come on down.
