The PebbleCreek Irish American Club’s Charitable Golf Tournament was a huge success! It started looking like a typical morning in Ireland, but the sun came out and all of the golfers enjoyed the day. There was a delicious buffet with corned beef, turkey, Concannon potatoes, sauerkraut, bread, and desserts. The raffle prizes were organized into 11 groups each ranging from $200-$400. There were also three lucky winners for the 50/50 raffle. Several local charities will benefit from this event.
One of our golfers, Alfredo Castelano, got a hole-in-one on the Palms Course No. 4 (sponsored by Karen Reuland of RealtyONEGroup). Jay Ballard, Monte Pearson, Mark Reddick, and Alfredo Castelano will have their names inscribed on the prestigious “Wee Folk” trophy for being the low net team in the 18-Hole Best Ball Competition. For the 18-Hole Best Ball for women, the winning foursome was Vicki Wolfe, Alberta Hahn, Lisa Flynn and Ellen Enright. In that same category, the best mixed team was David Diet, Ellie Kovach, Susan and Bill Gavin. The winning low net team of Pat and Jean Sherlock and Gary and Lynn Havens for the 9-Hole Step Aside Scramble will have their names inscribed on the “Wee Folk” trophy. The winning men’s team for the 9-Hole Step Aside Scramble was Rob Risden, William Bradshaw, Clay Troxell, and Pat Watkins. The women’s winning team was Judy Meyers, Diana Bidwell, Judy Bridges and Diana Berry.
For the best “wearin’ of the green,” the team winners for the ladies were June Flynn, Janet Veidt, Rosie Richman and Carol Collins. Tom Colbert was the winner for the men. Our day just wouldn’t be complete without Maureen Pugsley and Jan Kirk, our “Tarts in a Cart” duo who drove to all three golf courses giving our golfers a bag of goodies and bottled water.
Glenn Breen, the chair for this incredible event, would like to thank his committee for all of their hard work and dedication and many thanks to all of the volunteers on March 11. You will want to put Saturday, March 10, 2019, on your calendar, so you don’t miss our 10th annual Charitable Golf Tournament.
