This year our community volunteers prepared and distributed 555 Thanksgiving dinner baskets and 400 Christmas dinner baskets at the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank. At Christmas time in addition to the food, families were also given an opportunity to select one toy for each of their children under the age of 18. All this is made possible by the donations from friends and neighbors in our communities of Goodyear and Avondale. Our PebbleCreek Community is especially good about helping support this project. A big thank you to the many clubs and parties that collected donations of food, money and toys. We had 89 volunteers at Thanksgiving who put in 345 man hours and 80 volunteers at Christmas working a total of 283 man hours to ensure these events went smoothly. The PebbleCreek Community Church Mission Committee organizes the events and seeks help from other churches and groups. It is a pleasure to work with all those who helped to ensure a holiday dinner for so many families. PebbleCreek Community Church meets each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom and all faiths are welcome to join in this inter-denominational service.
