5777 is just around the corner

Brenda Hyman

You betcha—the Jewish High Holidays of 5777/2016 begin on October 3 for Rosh Hashanah followed by October 11 for Kol Nidre and October 12 for Yom Kippur. Rabbi David Mayer returns once again to preside over our annual services in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom.

Our services are a combination of leadership by Rabbi Mayer and participation by our congregants. The attendees are invited to volunteer to participate in the service. They may choose a reading in Hebrew or English or a request for a torah honor. This broad participation in the service helps to make our High Holiday Services so very special to everyone. After the Rosh Hashanah service, there is a beautiful Kiddish (snack) held in the Chianti Room. It is here that everyone wishes each other L’Shana Tova (Happy New Year), schmoozes and enjoys a wonderful array of food and beverages.

Ten days after the Rosh Hashanah celebration, Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) services are held. These two services are more solemn and include a day of fasting as part of the observance of the holiday. Attendees, once again, can volunteer to participate in the service. This inclusiveness promotes a real sense of community.

The Committee for the High Holidays would love to have you join us for the 5777/2016 Jewish High Holidays held at the Tuscany Falls Ballroom.
