CHRISTMAS TRADITION
Christmas comes but once a year
A time celebrating the birth of Christ, my dear
A time when families get together making memories lasting forever
A happy time full of giving and good cheer
They come from far and wide, you know
A gathering of loved ones with some under mistletoe
They will cook the ham, turkey or fatted lamb
And feast together be it sunshine or snow
But here in the desert community of PebbleCreek
There are those with nowhere to go, no families to seek
Some have each other, but no brother or mother
And to them the joyous season could be bleak
But PebbleCreek is a special place with a tradition
Under the guidance of Jane Cook for years, and now Susan Fallon
Those stuck here can look forward each year
To a potluck dinner full of joy and nutrition
The tables are clad in décor of the season
It is tradition at its best for a very good reason
To cheer those left behind, and this poet is running out of rhyme
So, if you are here, do join us in this great PebbleCreek tradition.
