Our twenty-first annual Christmas Day Potluck Dinner was very successful. One hundred eighty people attended. The day started at 8:00 a.m. when the committee arrived with their power packs, extension cords and duct tape to set up for the dinner. Thirteen food tables were covered with red plastic tablecloths. The ballroom doors were open at 9:00 a.m. for the attendees to decorate their tables. They were beautifully decorated. At 1:30 p.m. they came back with their potluck dishes. Most people were festively dressed. Dinner was served after Lenore Semmler gave the blessing. Laurie Overson was our Mistress of Ceremonies. It took 30 minutes to feed the group. They were allowed to go up for seconds after everyone was fed. We sang Happy Birthday to Paul White who turned 104 in December. Bruce Birnel and Edna Deford also led the 180 PebbleCreek potluck singers in singing Christmas carols. Our charities this year were the Agua Fria Food Bank (collected $634) and the Homeless Youth Connection (collected $824). After our short entertainment the dessert tables were uncovered and the delicious desserts were devoured. The dinner ended about 4:30 p.m. It was a very Merry Christmas for all who attended.
