The 2018 Robson Challenge was held Monday, November 12, at SaddleBrooke Ranch in Oracle, Arizona. The PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association (PCLGA) fielded one team of 12 players, who braved extremely challenging weather conditions for this time of the year! Players stated that it was so freezing no one wanted to remove their jackets for the team picture, with 20 mph winds and gusts up to 30 mph. The high temperature (at the most) for the day was 50 degrees…BRR!
The PCLGA players participating were Barbara Chilton, Deb Smedley, Sharon Hadley, Nancy Fackelmann, Sue Harrison, Jean Ostroga, Patty Brown, Cathy Schafer, Linda Thompson, Amber Rivera, Maria Murray and Sharon Johnson.
We did not win the trophy; however, SaddleBrooke Ranch, the host team, was the winner with a team score total of 754. The winning team was determined by using the best 10 of the 12 scores for each team. There were also flight winners, best overall gross and net, and several of our PCLGA players won in these categories as follows: Flight 1 – Jean Ostroga, third place; Sharon Hadley – 4th place; Flight 2 – Barbara Chilton, 4th place and Flight 3 – Nancy Fackelmann, 2nd place, Sharon Johnson, 3rd place and Patty Brown, 4th.
