Wally Campbell, a 16 year resident of PebbleCreek, and a member of the Goodyear City Council was recently awarded the coveted 2016 Civic Leader of the Year Award in recognition of her significant contributions to the West Valley and the state of Arizona. The award was presented by Leadership West at their annual awards gala recently held at the Wigwam Resort attended by over 300 people. Leadership West is an organization which cultivates leadership capital for the West Valley and prepares those leaders to effect positive change in Arizona. Nominations for this award were made by members of the public and the winners chosen by a vote of alumni members.
Wally is a Past President and member of the PebbleCreek Ladies 9 Golf Association, a member of PebbleCreek Pickleball Club, PebbleCreek Computer Club, and Good Time Gals. She is serving as Chair of the PebbleCreek Home Tour which is held in November every year which raises money for the Goodyear Police Department Shop With A Cop children in need program.
Her community involvement includes serving as Chairman of the Maricopa County Area on Aging Board of Directors; Board member of the Arizona State Board of Examiners of Nursing Care Institution Administrators and Assisted Living Facility Managers; Member Maricopa Elder Abuse Prevention Council; Board member of All Faith Community Services and Food Bank; Board member of the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce; Human Services Advisory Council; Founding Director of Historic Goodyear Litchfield Station Foundation; Ambassador of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council: White Tanks Rotary; Board member of the Assistance in Health Care of CTCA; and President of the Goodyear Friends of the Library.
Nationally, she was elected to the Board of Directors for the National League of Cities representing the city of Goodyear and state of Arizona; University Fellows; founding member of the Military Community Council as well as the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
Council Member Campbell was elected to the Goodyear City Council in March 2011 and reelected in March 2013.
