Judy Newell and Susan Franzone coordinated PCLGA’s participation in the fourteenth annual Robson Challenge on Thursday, November 19 at Robson Ranch. Both Eagle’s Nest and Tuscany Falls sent teams to compete in the challenge against Robson Ranch, SaddleBrooke Ranch, MountainView/Preserve, Ironwood, Oakwood and Quail Creek. This Challenge is a yearly event coordinated by the previous year’s PCLGA President and Vice President.

Jason Whitehill, our Director of Golf, represented Eagle’s Nest and Dennis Downs, Director of Instruction for Reid Golf Academy, represented Tuscany Falls. It is with great pleasure to report that Dennis Downs was the winning top pro and Tuscany Falls placed third overall. Eagle’s Nest was not far behind in fifth place. Robson Ranch hosted a wonderful day of competition and camaraderie for all and was the big winner.

The teams traveled safely by bus. Judy and Susan greeted the teams at 5:00 a.m. with goody bags as we boarded the bus. Ellen Enright brought muffins to fortify our strength as we faced the early morning traffic on the highway.

We arrived at sun-up at Robson Ranch excited and ready to go! After a short frost delay it was off to the combo tees at the Buttes and Picacho Courses. After golf we all enjoyed a wonderful buffet lunch and on the ride home indulged in wonderful oatmeal fudge bars homemade by our own Linda Glazar.

What a great day! From sun-up until sun-down, it was fun, challenging and rewarding. Another great reason to be happy we live in our great Robson Community of PebbleCreek.

Eagle’s Nest is privileged to be next year’s host. While we could only bring a limited number of golfers this year, we will all be given the opportunity to participate next year both as golfers and volunteers in running another day of friendly competition and friendship with our fellow Robson Communities.
