The nineteenth annual PebbleCreek Pooch Parade will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse on the back patio. Entry forms for your dogs are located at the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse on the bookcase across from the Pro Shop. Deadline for entering your dog in this year’s pooch parade is March 30. No entries will be accepted on the day of the event. Each dog entered will receive a certificate and a toy. Pictures will be taken and these photos will be available at a later date.
The parade will start at 9:00 a.m. Dogs must arrive no later than 8:15 a.m. to sign in and receive their number. During this year’s event, the dogs will be judged and awarded first, second and third place prizes for Best Costume.
In conjunction with the Pooch Parade, the Pet Companions Club of PebbleCreek will again be holding a raffle. In addition to supporting our efforts on behalf of the pets of PebbleCreek, we will also be donating a significant percentage of this year’s net receipts to Pammy’s 2nd Chance Rescue.
Pammy’s 2nd Chance Rescue is a no-kill, nonprofit 501(c)(3) foster based rescue located in Tolleson, Arizona, founded in 2012 by Pam and Glen Boren. Their focus is to take from high kill shelters the most at risk dogs, never discriminating by breed. Many of their dogs also come from situations of neglect and abuse. They are then rehabilitated and given a second chance at life. To date over 300 dogs and countless cats have found forever homes.
A box will be available for donations of supplies for all our animal rescue programs. Pet food (please check expiration dates), towels, blankets, crates, cages and any other pet related items are always needed. Items in excess of our needs will be donated to local animal shelters.
As in the past, we will also have Easter baskets for the young children in attendance. This is always a fun event for the whole family. If you have never attended one of our pooch parades in the past, please consider coming out to enjoy the festivities and support our worthwhile efforts in support of the pets of our community.
