The Pottery Club board celebrates accomplishments

The board leaders have many accomplishments to be proud of. Since taking control of the club nearly two years ago, the club has grown from 15 members to over 110, and they have taken the club from financial insecurity to being very sound.

Through their support and leadership, the pottery club sponsors four classes each month on a rotating basis. Class offerings include: handmade pottery, extruded clay pottery, clay jewelry, human bust sculpture, animal bust sculpture, “For the Birds” sculpture, pumpkin sculpture, flower arranging, individual projects and non-objective abstract acrylic painting. Arrangements for additional classes is currently being worked on.

The board is also responsible for implementing innovative ideas such as having a “slip” party every December where clay slip (liquefied clay) is made for the benefit of all club members and all classes for the following year. The board also instituted the practice of charging non-club members an additional fee for taking classes that is then applied toward their membership in the club.

For all that you have done Kathy, Jo, Judy and Terry, the Pottery/Sculpture Club of PebbleCreek thanks you!

Sign-up sheets for all pottery club sponsored classes are in the Expressions Gallery in the Creative Arts Center every month.
