Carol and her husband Jim moved from Thousand Oaks, California to PebbleCreek to be closer to their daughter and three grandchildren. She began playing tennis when she joined Thousand Oaks Racquet Club and was a member for many years. Carol only became a competitive player after moving to PebbleCreek and is now a valuable member of the Ace’s tennis team. Before retiring Carol was a flight attendant for American Airlines, a full time mom and then later a preschool teacher/director for many years.

Living in PebbleCreek has kept her busier than she ever imagined. She agreed to serve on the PCTC board as social chairwoman because tennis is one of the activities she enjoys most and this was a great way to give back. She said it’s fun throwing monthly parties and not having to clean her own house to do it. Getting to know all the tennis members has been the best thing about volunteering. People here are so happy and appreciative when someone else cooks and serves great meals.

Carol wants to add a big thank you to the “ice men” Ken M, Jim M, Dan S, Troney H, Dennis W, and other helpers that move and set up the tables and chairs for each tennis social. Without their help we would be sitting on the lawn and drinking warm Kool Aid.

Thank you so much for a job well done, Carol!

I moved to PebbleCreek from Minnesota in 2013 with Bob after visiting our good friends many times. We were instantly impressed by the beauty of PebbleCreek and wanted to escape the cold winters. I was a special educator for 36 years and raised two sons. I started tennis during college for fun and then played weekly with a group of teachers. When the kids were grown and I had more time I joined leagues and drills at Lifetime Fitness.

After moving here I joined the PebbleCreek Tennis Club, a morning tennis group and the Ace’s tennis team. It’s a much shorter drive to the courts in PebbleCreek compared to Minnesota. The lovely tennis facilities and golf courses were the reason we bought in PebbleCreek. I plan to continue helping the club with the ladies ladder which will start in November. I will turn over my secretarial duties in January so that someone else can take minutes at the board meetings and write monthly articles for the PebbleCreek Post. It’s a nice routine and a great club.

Coming up this fall and winter: November 28, Thanks A Lot social at 3:30 p.m. and December 14 Christmas Dinner Dance. Look for intra-club socials with Sun City West, JR’s lessons and the club will offer Skills and Drills, Ladders and Round Robins. Our bulletin board at the Tuscany Tennis Building and the website have all the details. There is never a deadline for becoming a member. Fill the forms out and you’re in!
